60's Gretsch 4105 Snare Re-wrap

Loading...

I just picked up a Gretsch WMP 4105 tonight. The wrap was completely cracked and faded. I was able to easily remove the wrap, since it wasn't really stuck to the shell.

I also have the original hoops and t-rods/washers.

I am going to re-wrap in red sparkle to match my orphan 22x14 bass drum.

Looks like a great project Tim. It will be dazzling with the red sparkle wrap.

Thank you!

She is going to be a stunner with that red wrap. Can't wait to see more. Also, that is quite a snare bed. How are the edges?

Yep, really deep snare beds. Edges are pretty good with just a few small nicks.

BTW, I ordered the red sparkle wrap from Precision Drum today.

Here are some finished pictures of this snare. The wrap went on easy and the chrome cleaned up really well.

Remo Ambassador on top (temporary until Fiberskyn arrives), Evans Hazy 300 on the bottom and Puresound Super30 wires.

Sounds really nice and it's actually hard to tell the difference between it's 8 lug sibling.

It's going to go really well with my 22x14 bass to make a One Nighter mini kit.
