Very nice. And they are 3 ply shells to boot! They should bring the thunder.

I found out last night that the color is Tiger's Eye Pearl ,which a Pearl color from 1969. That color is not listed for Crown Drums. The kit is made by the Pearl Drum Co.

The lugs and badge suggest otherwise. That round badge is a Star type of badge. If it says World Supreme or Worlds finest, sonmething like that, they are most certainly Star. Pearl used square and/or rectagular plastic badges for many, if not most, of the stencils. The wraps are from another supplier that made it for all the drum makers.

Lovely kit! they are beautiful for sure- I think they would fall into the "root-beer strata" category (not sure of the name they were actually given) That darker brown color isn`t actually in the Pearl catalogs- I thought it was a Star line item.

Here is the 69 wraps page:

I have a 69 Tigers Eye and it`s quite a bit more yellow/gold even with age. We`ve all seen these beautiful root-beer strata kits like yours (love em!)

Here`s a shot of my Tigers Eye, can you see the difference?

Amazing! I have drums that are identical, but they were made by Maxtone. I have never seen any before, that look so close in every way. it made me happy to see your drums.
