Hi,

I've got an opportunity to purchase a similar kit but know absolutely NOTHING about the brand. Could you provide any insight at all regarding the quality of this kit?

THANKS in advance for your time and your help!

Not sure if reviving this thread is ok, but new here and saw this pic. I have an Artist Limited kit, 12,13,14,20. that I ordered from either a Sears or Montgomery Ward, ( I think it was MW) mail order catalog in 65-66. Kit is in the psychedelic red swirl laminate, and the shells are mahogany. I have used them since I got them as my take to every gig kit. The shell edges were rounded, and I had them re-edged. Nothing great, but they have served me for 50 years now, and still look great.

I was told that Tama made them, before the company started using the Tama name, but have not been able to verify. Use a Powertone for a 14" snare and a 13" Mapex steel Pro Snare, depending on need. Been a low budget drummer for decades (not where cymbals are concerned), and have had a ball. tomp
