That's amazing really. I searched everywhere for something similar with no results until I posted these pics. Could you please post the Australian ad, I would really like to have as many references as possible for my restoration project. Thanks a lot!

Well Ralph, it just so happens I was born in 1961, but I wasn't into drums back then :-) ...

Being only 5 years older than you, I wonder whether you have never seen this wallpaper style (same design as the multi-colour Flower-Power-posters, also in the 70's).

... Anyway, thank you all for the replies, I will definetly try to keep these as original as possible. I'm not too worried about the resale value, I just want to make them look and sound nice and keep them, at least until something even cooler comes along.

That's good, and what we love, to hear. ;)

Thanks a lot. Amazing how these suddenly appear almost simultaneously on opposite sides of the globe. He could well use my extra snare, If I could have the floor tom...

Too far to even contemplate, anyway.

Again, thanks for sharing the pics :-)

Great! Those are the pics from the ad that Wado mentioned. I wish I could have his floor Tom in exchange for my extra snare. But Australia is really too far...

Restoration coming along nicely. I removed the rust spots from the chrome rims and hardware (best results using cola drink and aluminium foil!)and polished everything with car polish. Managed to restore most of the metal glitter of the wrap by spraying the back of the foil with silver paint. Replaced most screws as they were rusted beyond hope. The wood was cleaned with fine sandpaper, cracks filled with wood filler and then treated with linseed oil to a rich mahogany colour. Only the bass drum is still unfinished, the wrap was cracked and is being recovered. Maybe I can finish the job this weekend, as it will probably be raining a lot...
