I would have to say Slingerland,as they were the only company to do everything under one roof...They made ther own shells, hardware lugs ect...There plating was surperb, noone came close..Hell they even sold the larger shell to Rogers.....Now if this was an all around poll it would be Leedy Indianapolis(the origional) as every company followed them......The best drums ever made.......

Actually ludwig did that too.....made everything in house for a number of years...they followed in the footsteps of Leedy, who were teh first to make EVERYTHING in house. I'll agree with you, Indy-era and Conn-era Leedy were probably the best sounding and well made drums ever....and that's coming from a long-time Ludwig guy! LOL!

Rogers, Rogers and last but no least Rogers. I've played them all however nothing and I mean nothing stands up to a Rogers Cleveland era holiday in tone or longevity.

Camco Oaklawn or Leedy & Ludwig.

Very high cool factor, too.

Gotta be Gretsch.

They had the best shells and die cast rims. I used to think that their hardware was garbage but I've changed on that - other than the kick pedal I think the W&A stuff, like the snare and cymbal stands, is the best.

The fact that they came with K's was one of those bonuses I can live with too.

I must say that after owning a Slingerland, gretsch, and Ludwig sets, I

like all of them. Hope to soon have a Rogers set to round-out the collection

That's what I'll be shopping for next week at the Chicago Show!
