'59 Ludwig tom mount "tab" loose.

I've recently purchased a 1958-59 Ludwig kit that I totally love. However, there is one issue. The "tab" (sorry if I'm getting the terminology wrong here) on the rail mount that the rack tom clips over is loose. Everything else on the mount is nice and secure, but the little metal tab at the end wiggles around, which makes the tom sit at an awkward angle. My mount looks basically like the one pictured here:

There doesn't seem to be an adjustment I can see to tighten it up, so I was thinking about just shimming it with a washer somehow. Is this a known issue with these kits, and is there a better fix out there?

The spade part is the part that the tom slips over. That spade is made on to the rod that goes into the rail. Is the spade loose on the rod? Or is the rod and spade loose in the rail mount?

Might be easier to find a replacement unless you have access to someone that can weld yours for you.

I would put a little clear epoxy on it and see how long it stands up.
