50s/Early 60s Gretsch Wrap Rarity Order Last viewed: 23 hours ago

I've been thinking about the order of rarity for classic Gretsch wraps. I'm limiting the time period to the pre-satin-flame era, because otherwise the options get super complex. I'm also not including things like duco or harlequin finishes, or custom/one-offs like original Espresso Burst. I'm thinking it's something like this (wild guess based on my anecdotal experience), tell me where you think I'm off!

- (Most Common) WMP (by a large margin, I think)

- Blue Sparkle

- MBP

- Champagne Sparkle

- BDP

- Silver Sparkle

- Red Sparkle

- Gold Sparkle

- Burgundy Sparkle

- Peacock Sparkle

- Anniversary Sparkle

- Green Sparkle

- Black Nitron

- Starlight Sparkle

- Tangerine Sparkle

- Copper Mist

- Cadillac Green

- (Least Common) Cameo Coral (has a full kit ever really existed?!)

Tangerine isn't common but there's more of it out there than people think. More than Burgundy, Peacock, Anniversary, or Starlight I'd think.

I have two sets of Tangerine myself and I watch the ebay auctions for that finish. Usually at least one thing will pop up every week.

Yeah, I think you're right. I'd probably put it higher on the list given a second go at it.
