50's WFL almost done - quick question!

Loading...

First off HELLO! I have been away from the site for a while. Still keeping tabs here and there but I've been on tour a lot lately and just have had not time to work on drums!

Ok So here's my dilemma. I'm 90 percent on this kit and am ready to sell, but, I'm really not looking forward to spending $200 in heads just to sell it a week later. Figured I'd post my progress and ask how big a hit I would take selling it w/o heads. I know it sounds weird, I've just had so many people as if they could get a kit cheaper with out the heads (I have always put a new set on before I sell) because they play a different head. Enjoy!

Oh and BTW the kit is 13, 16, 24 (single tension) will also feature a 1957 WFL 10X14 single tension snare. BOOM BOOM

I suggest to put some used heads on that you might have laying around...I`ve sold kits before that I put brand new heads on and in one case, a week later, I saw that the buyer had removed the new heads and put them up for sale...I remember thinking to myself "That was a waste of money"

My 2 cents...

Cheers

those look great. with all the hard work that youve put into then, i'd finish them off with some heads.

Very nice work on those. New heads would compliment the work done. But if not in the budget maybe some used heads if you have them or let the new owner choose and buy. Good luck with them! Cool1

Another option I've been considering is borrowing the heads from my local music shop (I managed it for two years so I'm sure it's cool) and just not tightening them down. Just finger tip tight, take some pics and then just let whomever know they'd be china dolled (sorry if that's not PC) into each other. I'm hoping this kit brings me a nice penny. I put a damn lot of work into these things and they are going to sound silly amazing!

I would at least throw used heads on and let the buyer decide what kind of new heads he wants. Good looking set!
