Yes, the wraps have an overlap.

Thanks Rich....

By the way, not to intrude, but is there a way to send you a picture of the separation? Tried to upload on the site, but the picture was too large.

Sorry for being anal about this, but want to make sure I am describing the separation correctly.

Much appreciated.

Here is the picture of the reinforcement seam. Other than these two little separations, the seams are tight.

Please let me know if this is okay.

Thanks much.

As Rich states, these are normal and appear an many Radio Kings.

Many times the splits are at the bearing edge and yours are inside the drum so that is also normal and usually left alone, unless it is the bearing edge, I would just leave them, they are slight and not an issue.

Enjoy the drum

David and Rich:

Thanks so very much.

I only joined this site a few days ago, and already it has proven to be invaluable to me.

Very much appreciated.

No problem,

Let's see a picture of the drum when it is done!

My 1958 WFL Classic has the wrap begin about 3-4 inches between a layer of the mahogany and poplar plys. This is a 3 ply drum, mahogony, poplar, mahogony. A pretty cool way to make sure the seam can't split.
