From OddBall

According to vintage drumatix (est.1997) this oval "red P" is a 50`s badge and the rarest pearl brand you can find, and the one you show was put on all brands from the 50`s to 65ish and then continued on low end and jr. models up to 1973. I don`t know how accurate this info is !i It doesn`t say ..Made in Japan on it !i

That site is wrong on the date, the badge you posted is the one that pearl used from 1964-66..The same badge in cap's date the drums from 1960-64...Mikey

A few years ago someone here posted a link to 3bay with photos of the oldest Pearl set I'd ever seen-it was a red 4-piece with stick chopper hoops,Slingy-style lugs and calf heads. It had the "Tokyo" badges.

So...What year is the the pearl I posted? I know the catalogs probably don't show everything that was sold. But there isn't a single drum, in the catalogs on this site, that could be this drum and the earliest is 66'. Mikey777 just tell me a year. I will believe it.

Ok, "red P", "EARL" (caps not script) is 60-64? That would make sense with the mounting bracket. Does that make sense for the sticksavers? The other thing that is kinda strange to me is that it says "Made in Japan"? You will have to excuse my punctuation. I am a "Dummer" after all. haha
