Hey Jaye,
Here's where I am.
Bass drum is done except for the hoops. I finished polishing the claws and T's yesterday. Cleaned all the threads on the T's and they really look like they came from the store.
I pulled the snare back apart to polish the lugs. I have 2 of the 8 done. I'm going to polish more tonight.
I just finished wrapping the 9x13 before dinner. I had to plug a few extra holes in it and went ahead and plugged the factory mounting holes too because I'm going to use a rim mount. All the hardware for the tom needs to go to the plater on Monday. I'm trying to polish the hoops and not send them. (see below)
The top hoop of the snare had a little problem when I got it back from the plater.....the Radio King engraving was GONE!! I got really lucky and John Aldridge had a little time to engrave the hoop so I sent it to him and should have it back on Tuesday. Pheeew.
I ordered heads (Aquarian American Vintage) a couple of days ago but the bass drum heads are going to take a week or so to get so it's looking like 2 weeks and I should have these three pieces done. I'm still looking for a 16 floor tom.

Here is a few before pics of the bass drum...it looks better in the pics than when I opened the box...LOL!!
Not one of the claws could be used, they were literally worn down from being tuned over the years. I used 3 of the T's and picked up more through a couple of auctions, outer veneer needed a ton of work.
This drum had been someones workhorse, it had a ton of miles on it and deserved to be rescued.

Cool...has a bit of fade goin' there, eh ? Man, that is labor-intensive work...
I kept trying to figure out why there was a ring around the grommet hole on the inside of the shell and when Curotto posted his chrome snare grommet pic all of sudden everything was crystal clear. Here is my solution; It's a 3/8" flat grommet backing for a tarp grommet. Looks very factory and worked like a charm!
