'30s Broadkaster?

Loading...

I'm trying to get an idea of the value of this late '30s Broadkaster that a friend of mine is offering in trade. It's a 14 x 7 WMP with a little yellowing, and some of the chrome (or nickel) rubbed off to the metal underneath. I'll be playing the drum, so as long as everything works well, I don't mind.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Best.

Sorry I can't help with value, I just wanted to wish you luck in getting it. It's a nice one!

Thanks very much for the replies and well wishes, Lynn.

Here's the only picture he took of the interior.

Thanks for the reply Blair.

No extra holes. This gentleman is a somewhat well-known English drummer, whom I've dealt with a lot. Everything I've gotten from him has been on the up-and-up. Here's another look at the throw. If it's not correct, he certainly doesn't know.

I've seen Rogers drums with Gretsch factory parts, and maybe vice-versa,but don't recall seeing any G. with Slingerland throws!

All of the snares I've gotten from him have sounded great. He makes his living as a drummer, so I would expect nothing less. But at some point, I'll need to get rid of it, and if that's a Slingerland throw, it pretty much kills the value, yes? I'm familiar with the four point Gretsch throws, but not this one. I'll ask him about it. I seems odd that the holes would line up, doesn't it?

Thanks again.
