22" old K

Loading...

Hi everyone!

I am selling a 22" old K old stamp 4a from late 50's at around 2200gr.

the bad part:

It has a keyhole and a crack. the crack is at the top hole and is about 10mm long and has been stopped long ago.

there is a dent at the edge of the cymbal. I own it for the last 18 years and got it at the same condition as it is now. nothing has changed.

The good part:

The sound of the cymbal is amazing! the perfect weight I think. it has perfect balance between stick definition and low wash.

Sound file: http://www.supload.com/sound_confirm.php?get=1287516868.wav

I'm asking 2500$ but I am open for offers. I don't think I will sell it for much less because The this is a very unique cymbal.

For more details or pictures please PM me or mail to shahaziza@gmail.com

shipping will be not from the US but I don't think it will be higher then 100$

The buyer will pay shipping.

Payment will be money transfer to a bank account.

Thanks and good luck!

Sounds nice.

Best of luck with it, truly...but I do think those days are over (the days of getting +$2000 for even an old 22" K). Back in 2005 you could land a 20" for $800-900, and a 22" went for about $1200-1500. then all hell broke loose for those few years before the economy (inevitably) imploded...taking most of the rest of the world with us. I do not think we will ever see the days of the $2500 22" K again...and I am not saying that with any sense of lament.

Yours has some damage to boot, so...I don't think the price very realistic, really....although I do appreciate that you are disclosing everything. Many folks would try to soft-talk around those things.

BTW...your links didn't work for me...I dunno if others are having the same problem....

Thanks Jaye,

I know the price is high but this cymbal is really something else. Any drummer that played on it and any musician I played it was amazed by this cymbal. I am willing to go a bit down with the price if some one is interested and serious about it. I can also send a video file.

Here is a video from a show with the ride. At around 4:00 there is a drum solo so you can hear the cymbal better.

I'm sure I'll get flack for this, but oh well...I have to speak (type) my peace. You're asking $2500.00 for a K that's keyholed and has cracks?

This is a drum forum consisting of drummers of all ages and there is a lot of drummers who regularly buy stuff here and are well in tune with current prices. Why not check completed items on Ebay for the same size cymbal with cracks and keyholing, so you are able to get a more realistic price. I think you'd have much better results with an offer if you did so.

I'm not trying to be an elitist or sway people from buying your cymbal, but assuming you are a drummer, from what I've read in your post, you should have a clear idea of it's real value, sentiments aside for your fondness for it.

Here's a list to give you an approximate idea of what cymbals are going for of your type. I sincerely wish you the best of luck with the sale of your cymbal....

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Thanks backbeatkeeper.

I did see for how much cymbals were sold for and i did consulted with people who know how much my cymbal worth. the old stamp that i saw sold higher. the weight of my cymbal is also very rare but besides that its rare the cymbal just sounds really good. i also know that if i will wait a few years the value will go up and i also know i might regret selling it, but i am not a business man or a collector and I'm not using this ride at this time so I want to sell it. as I mentioned at the add I am willing to go down - not 1000$ - but a bit down. if i wont get what i think it worth then i'll just keep it.

Much thanks.

I DO HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE FOLLOWING POST, I AM A EBAY SELLER AND OWN VINTAGE K'S AND HAVE SOLD ALOT OF VINTAGE K'S GIVEN THE CONDITION OF THE CYMBAL IN QUESTION AND CURRENT ECONOMIC CLIMATE, IT WILL NOT BRING YOUR ASKING PRICE, TO FETCH THAT PRICE IT WOULD HAVE TO BE IN VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT CONDITION, AND AS STATED IN THIS EXISTING CLIMATE IT WOULD NOT SELL AT THAT PRICE, IN REALIY MORE TOWARDS $500.00 TO $700.00 ON A GOOD DAY, I WOULD TROLL EBAY AS PRIOR STATED TO GET YOUR REAL GOING PRICE, MARK

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!
