Hi,

I'm a newbie to this forum. I have visited here before and know everyone here's very knowledgable. I hope I can be of help with someone sometime in return.

A friend of mine who's a guitarist had purchaced a Pacific 5 pc. kit from someone as to have a kit so the drummer wouldn't have to lug a kit over for practices. The seller threw in a few extra vintage drums with it. Obviously the drummer who sold him these I believe didn't know their value. I tried to post a pic and it's asking me to enter the URL of my image. I don't know what that means or how to do it. I think I could attach them:

That's a 1930s snare drum...(1935-40s)...Look through the badge/grommet/airhole and you should see a date stamp...

Thanks, wasn't for certain what year it was and didn't see a stamp yet cause it's not mine! I went by the badges from this site and it looked like the one that was a 1920's era. I'll have to check it out nextime. At the rebeats chicago drum show, a gentleman told me it was a certain edition of snare because of the wood hoops. Forgot the name, (Big Band drummer).

Hi,

If you ever consider selling the bass drum, please drop me a PM. I've been looking for a bass drum from that era to go with an old Ludwig snare that I've got.

Thanks!

Hi, Like I mentioned, the items aren't mine but I'll mention it to the guitarist and see if he'll part with it. The bass drum with painted calf skin reso has the Ludwigold badge and I believe it's early 30's, don't know for certain. There was also a box of misc. hardware. here's more pics.

Ludwigold would be 1926-27...

Looks like the bass is a painted (oh well) Ludwigold bass from the '20s, but the snare would be 1936 or later...if the lugs have no inserts, it's '36 or '37, with inserts. later.
