20's Ludwig Black Beauty Deluxe 5x14

Loading...

In a series of fortunate events and years of seeking, I have finally acquired a Ludwig Black Beauty to my collection! 5x14, 8 lug, scroll engraving. The studio which I purchased this from was wise enough to have purchased modern clips in order to tune up the drum and make it playable, they included all the original clips, none are cracked!

Oddly, the "Ludwig Chicago" engraving is two panels to the left of the strainer. While this is a bit unusual, it is not unheard of, as each BB was hand engraved and no two are alike.

Nice find and smart move on their part with the clips. Enjoy it!

Thank You!

I neglected to mention how it sounds!

Exceptionally crisp and articulate. Bright, sensitive, and unique. Quite frankly, I've never heard a drum like it! It feels almost magic to play it!Excited
