1st time on a forum

Loading...

Hi,

1st time I have ever signed up for a forum of any kind. The reason I did, is I have an old drum in my house that has been passed down in the family and I don't know much about it and tried to research on the net. Its an Lyon Healy Drums and Military goods on the sticker inside. Then I also have a set of Rogers Holiday cleveland and again I don't know much about them, I was looking for some help on value and yea I do plan on selling them. The Rogers do belong to my husband who only played them in high school and once at a class reunion. I asked if we could sell them since I have only seen him play them once in the last 25 years. Sorry, I'm not the drum person that normally is on this type of forum, just a person looking for help.

Thank you

G

Hi, Gina. Thanks for thinking of us and joining up to ask your question!

It sounds like you have some goodies! But, like Antipodes mentioned, it's really difficult to assess what you have without some photos. Please post a few photos of the drums in question and we will do our best to help you.x-mas2

Thanks for wanting to help me, that is very nice of you. I'm not good with pictures, but I will try. If anyone has dog questions I maybe able to help with that, I show dogs.

Thanks again for being nice, I was afraid since I didn't know drums, and only was researching so I could sell them, that the forum would not be interested, thanks again, I will work on getting those pictures

Gina,

We could start with Color, Condition, Sizes, Lugs... Cleveland drum tags stopped being used in 65-66. It is not uncommon to see some Rogers sets with both Cleveland and Dayton paper tags on drums in the same set.

So...

1. Sizes

2. Internal Paper Tags

3. Color

4. Condition

5. Lug Type

This is a good place to start.

OK, I have taken pictures of the Lyon Healy. I took pictures because I'm sure its missing stuff and not in good shape. I would like to know how old it is. Seems to be a question of its age, the family thinks its from the civil war, I can't believe it is, but I really don't know.

I will try to attach the pcitures

next I will get pictures of the Rogers set.

thanks

Gina

Ok I tried, but kinda afraid to upload them, it looks like it would send all my pictures. Can I E-mail the pictures to someone on the list to do for me???
