Nice. I dont often see drums in my color.

Mine are 1995 Ayotte Custom, 16x22, 10x12, 16x16. The snare is a 7x14 Ayotte Custom in piano black gloss.

I've got a 5 piece ayotte kit, and I'm trying to figure out how old they are. The serial numbers are in the 8700 range. Based on your kit's numbers, approximately how old do you think mine are. Thanks, and don't you just love that ayotte sound.

Regards, al

Hi Al,

Absolutely love the sound. I also have a set of Yamaha Beech Customs that sound (and record) very nice as well with a Yamaha Custom Oak snare. The Ayottes are still a step ahead of any other current brand (to my ears/hands anyways).

I spoke to a contact at Ayotte directly and they said that yours would be from Feb 1999. This is the year that Drumsmith which used Taiwanese shells was discontinued, Promaple which was disc in approx 2002 and, Custom locally made kits were all avail.

What model are you fortunate enough to own?

Cheers, Randy.
