1982 TAMA Swingstar Royal Canary 12/13/16/22

Loading...

So out of room a kit must go. The Swingstar drew the short stick. Has had a complete lug off clean/polish. Old pics, it has Remo Black Dots now. Never sold a kit so any help on value would be great.

Thanks!

Beautiful kit, and totally underrated.. I had a later Swingstar from about 1985, with the rectangular lugs and they were phenomenal sounding.. Something about that Zola coat that gives the drums an almost naturally EQ'd sound, with a lot of warmth but with great projection..If i ever find one in my neck of the woods here in Canada, i'm going to snag it up.. But that's gonna have to wait for now, as i'm a little strapped for cash these days.. As far as value, that is subjective..To a vintage Tama aficionado , they'll pay whatever they think is fair..As far as market value, i would say about $400 more or less.. I actually saw someone ask for $800, but at that price, put in $400 more and you can get a used Starclassic, so i don't think anyone would pay that much for a vintage swingstar, even in the near mint condition yours is in.. The rarity of your drum's finish might bring in a little more..

Thank you sir!

Kit is not mint but close. Agree very underated. Has a huge punch. Best I can tell Royale Canary was 1982 only. Ever since I got them have searched and never seen another. Again thanks!

Drums are gathering dust in Spokane, WA. Closer to Canada than most of the USA :-)
