1982 Remo USA Made PTS "Pre-Tuned" Fiberglass Shell 12/13/16/22/14- No Missing Parts!

Loading...

Hello,

VDF Friends, I want these gone. I am out of room. Please make me a reasonable offer. Thanks!

1982 REMO PTS kit. Excellent condition with amazingly no missing hooks or latches! Also, no broken heads! Date Stamped October 22, 1982. Sizes are 8" x 12", 9" x 13" Rack Toms, 14" (Depth) x 16" (Head) Floor Tom, 5" x 14" Snare and 14" x 22" Bass.

All three toms have coated Ambassador Mellow heads top and bottom.

Snare has a coated Ambassador Bright and an unmarked hazy snare side head. Bass drum has a coated Ambassador Dark batter and an unmarked coated logo head on the front. All heads are in very good condition. Small dent in snare side head, but no tears. I will also include an extra snare batter head, a coated Ambassador Mellow, which is lower in pitch than the Ambassador Bright.

These drums are very lightweight and are a breeze to carry around. They sound good too. More of a higher jazz or be-bop sound from the toms, especially the 12" and 16". Both bass drum heads are unmuffled, so I bought a $5 towel at Target and threw in the bottom, touching both heads and that makes it sound much better. I'll leave the towel in there for 'ya! The "wrap" (which is essentially Contact paper) is a glossy white and is clean with no rips or tears. There is some wrinkling on the bass and floor, and the "seam" is coming apart a little on the floor, but nothing major. Swiv-O-Matic copy mounts work great and are in good shape.

The snare has a non-original throw off installed by the previous owner. Works fine. Also, the snare wires are actually for a 13" drum, but they work fine. Due to the construction of the drum, no matter how I positioned the 14" snares, one edge of the snares was always touching the shell/bearing edge. Using 13" snares solved the problem, and again it sounds fine. NOTE: Snare stand not included.

This is a cool kit and a piece of history. And it's rare to find one with no broken heads and no missing hooks.

$200 plus shipping. I would also consider meeting within a 100 mile radius of Cincinnati, which would include Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis, Columbus and Dayton.

Thanks,

V

Bump One More Time.

I edited my first post. I need room and want these gone. Please don't make me go to ebay! I know someone out there in the VDF Community would like to have this piece of drum history.

Yes, that's what I was thinking.

These are made out of masonite with a clear coat over it.

That's still OK.
