1980s Yamaha Snare Worth?

Loading...

This is a sad email to write as I am looking to find the worth of an 80s Yamaha Recording Custom that was stolen along with a custom drum I made. Need to fill out some forms so I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what I should put down for its worth. It was originally white but stripped it and stained it which I realize drops value. Any ideas would be great. Here's a pic of the snares and a 63 Sonor that I luckily still have. Thanks!

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. It always changes the way you look at the world around you a little bit when somebody steals from you.

These guys sell Yamaha snares and have a real good drum shop so maybe they can give you a recommendation on replacement cost.

I haven't seen much discussion about 80's Yamaha equipment on this particular forum as the focus is pretty much Vintage American drums.

However if you use the search feature you will find discussion about earlier Yamaha equipment... and here is a link to a Yamaha section of this site. http://vintagesnaredrums.com/yamaha_hardware.html might be some help.

You might give ebay and Craigshelper.com (national Craigslist) a search for drums that match your description to find a replacement price.

Best of luck... maybe after digging around on this site for a while you will find your interest piqued by some of this older gear.

Not a Guru... just interested..
