Here are my 1980 LP Tito Puente Timbales. 14" & 15". Through the years I have also performed as a percussionist with different bands and studio. I currently play with a reggae band here in south east Florida and performing this weekend with them and had noticed my timbales were due for a good overhauling. I had to replace the strips that went on the wood block that separates the drums so they don't rest against the wood and are level. I used some Leather strips I cut from some Ecuadorian leather. Worked perfect. Took them apart and cleaned everything. Cleaned up the stand with some Turtle Wax Chrome Polish. used windex and paper towels on the drums.

The felt you took off also serves as a muffling device for the timbales. you can replace them with furniture moving tabs sold at Home depot Or Loews. you can level them with these pads they are also self sticking. This is what my set look like
Nice job Tim! Those look like fun! I have a set but no stand for them.
Thank you!

JCcabinets what stand do you need for your timbales
Here is a pic of mine. These came with my Ludwig Blue oyster kit I bought a couple years ago. I have never used them or had a need to use them but never had a stand also.
Thank you!

Cuquito717, I think you would be pleased with my replacements. One pad came off and was lost a while back. The leather works great. I will get a close up for you and see what you think.
