1980 Slingerland J5 Restoration

Here are photos of my complete 1980 Slingerland J5 in gloss blue original wrap. The kit had a vintage Yamaha tom mount assembly and asian hardware and snare when I purchased it.

Thanks to VDF members al9000, Idrum4fun, and tillerva for helping me find the Slingerland hardware. Kit now has a double SOM tom mount assembly, 1971 chrome over brass snare, Dynamo hi hat stand, red label cymbal stands, (without boom) Tempo King pedal, vintage chrome cowbell, and Zildjian cymbals. The cymbals are New Beat 14", A series 16" medium crash, and 20" ping ride.

Although I love the gloss blue, I'm going to do a re-wrap in a month or so.

Looking good, I like the colour too..

You did well to gather all of the missing hardware. The wrap looks in good condition from the pic, are you rewrapping only to cover the extra holes.. or could they be patched??

Thanks for your comments. There were no holes showing after I put the original accessories back on. The Yamaha stuff wasn't as large as the Slingerland so it was covered up.

The only reason I'm re-wraping is because I fell in love with black diamond pearl and can't get it out of my head! There are some bad scuffs on the 9x13 and if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't do a re-wrap...maybe somebody can talk me out of doing it?
