Outstanding. Good luck with this one. I would suggest that you meet in a very crowded place and exchange money and goods in said public square. Trust but verify. It's a tough world and it's never a good idea to do biz like this without some sort of protection. Watch your back and let us know how it goes.
1977 Slingerland 4 piece for $300.
Yeah I read you loud and clear... Lot of shady people in this ol' world
Well guys and girls I think you can rack this one up as a scam or at least as something fishy... The guy "selling the drums" called me on a Monday and I told him I could go pick them up and pay for them Saturday. I called him back Thursday to make sure everything was a go for Saturday and he told me something came up and he was going to be out of town. I understood because sometime stuff happens, no problem. I told him I would call him back in a week to see if I could go the following Saturday.. Call him back the following Thursday and get voice mail and let him a message. Friday he calls back and his cell phone sounded like it was breaking up bad and I couldn't understand a word he was saying... call him back and get the voice mail again and I left him a message... Try calling him again Friday and get no answer... On my way to a gig Saturday I call him again and still no answer... then all of a sudden he sends me a text: "Please quit calling. You broke the rules when you didn't use PayPal! Our biz is over." I had sent him an email with my phone number to contact me when I first on the auction and put in the email I could pay with PayPal or with cash when I would go pick them up. I bought a motorcycle and a guitar amp off eBay and payed cash when I went picked them up and never had any problems with the seller... they were actually happy that they had the money in their hand. Anyway to make a long story short... I didn't lose any money and I didn't get my drums... lolViolin

I'm honestly not surprised at the outcome. This one just felt very very bad. I'm glad you didn't have to come face to face. Trust is something earned. I didn't trust this one from the beginning.

Thanks for sharing your experience...may have saved me from learning my own lesson down the road!

So, do you leave bad feedback or not?
He only has 2 feedbacks so a single bad one will kill him on eBay.
Certainly isn't a perfect world.Glad you didn't get burned.
No I didn't leave feedback yet... But I'm thinking about it. Just be on the lookout in case the set comes up again. I wouldn't mes with it.:2Cents:

I asked him if he had made a mistake in the listing about the shipping and he said he didn't mind paying the shipping charge himself, that he just wanted to get rid of them... I think he said they belonged to a pastor's grandson or something like that and they were put up and hardly ever played and the pastor's wife wanted him to get rid if them. I was going to pick them up anyway so he can't use that for an excuse.
