1975 Rogers Fullerton Double Bass

Last May, I posted my 5-piece WMP Fullerton double bass kit here, and thought it would be nice to now share my 1975 8-piece, double bass Fullerton kit. I'm the original owner. All the drums have their original Rogers reso heads, and one bass still has its original batter head (never gigged with the second bass). I special ordered this set-up from Manny's in NY in 1975. These late 9/72 series Fullertons are the last of the script swivo-era Rogers just before the transition to the Big R's. Twin 22" basses with 12, 13, 14, and 15" mounted toms, 16" FT, and a 6½" chrome Dyna. Note the script Dyna already has the Big R style snare gates.

I found the matching 8 & 10" concert toms online about ten years ago and figured all I was missing was an 18" FT to give me the full Rogers tom range. Through C.L., I found a 5-piece Rogers set in black listed as: 24"bass, 13 & 14" toms and an 18" FT. Drove to Long Island, NY to pick it up and was surprised that the FT was actually the rare 20"! That 20" is thunderous! Hope you enjoy the pic.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. In '75 when my hair was down the middle of my back, this was my dream set. It brings back a lot of great memories of my band covering all the big hits of the great bands of that era (Deep Purple, Doobie Bros, Zeppelin, Grand Funk Railroad, Edgar Winter, ELP, etc). But alas, the era of the monster sets has past, and because my wife and I moving to Florida and down-sizing, I'm forced to part this baby out (I know I could never sell this as a complete set).

It was nice to set it up in my basement one final time for this photo (I really wish Florida homes had basements). If anyone is looking for a particular piece to complete a kit, send me a PM. I think I'll sit behind it one last time and play Karn Evil 9 before breaking it down.

Just Wow! Surely you have played the "Hawaii 5-0" theme on them? I bought my four piece New England White Rogers kit in 1975, and I still have it too.

The highest point in Florida is 345 ft above sea level (and soon to be less than that) and the coastal soil is basically sand, so basements are very rare here.

When you do relocate to Florida make sure you are well away from any flood zones as defined by FEMA. The flood insurance is brutal if you house is not high enough.

1964-67 Rogers Blue Glass Glitter 12/14/16/20

1960-ish Ludwig COB 5x14 Super Sensitive

1970 Ludwig COB Cut-Badge 5x14 Supra Phonic

Looking for a Camco Aristocrat SD in Blue Moire!!
