Hi Everyone!

I just wanted some advice on a kit for sale in the UK - https://www.facebook.com/stevevintagedrum

Desc - For Sale £1200

Ludwig B/O badge

1971

Bowling ball blue wrap

3 ply reinforcing hoops

Factory bearing edges (excellent )

All drums in excellent condition

No extra holes or Mods

22x14,16x16,13x9,12x8

I just wanted to ask if this was a good price? I know they're cheaper in the US (this is about $1850) but sadly we're not so lucky this side of the pond!

It's a nice kit I'm just wondering whether to hold out for a 60's one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nice looking kit,and that era is the Maple poplar maple layup era,and considered some of the best shells Luddy ever made, and I think QC was better than the early mid sixties drums. If you want that classic Ludwig sound those are the ones to get IMO.

As far as pricing goes,I am not totally up on that, but it seems like classic/vintage american drums usually are about a two to three ratio, in other words a 1200.00 Kit here would go for about 1800.00 in the U.K. Right now in my local market that looks like a 1200.00 Kit.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

That's great thanks for your help!

Isn't there an issue with older shells warping? I hear that a lot
