I second the Ambassador recommendation. Emperors on the batter side are also nice if you like a deeper, warmer, fatter tone. I prefer coated heads on both the batter and reso sides: I don't find that coated resos cause problems for resonance, and they look cool.

Ludwig heads are also a good choice. Note that the "Heavy" Ludwig head is roughly equivalent to an Ambassador in weight. The "Medium" Ludwig is similar to a Diplomat, which is too thin unless you're playing light jazz.

I have Aquarian American Vintage heads on my 3-ply Ludwigs, and I love them. Great heads. They're similar to Ambassadors, but a little warmer.

I'd stay away from pre-dampened heads like Pinstripes or hydraulics. Those are great drums, and they should have heads that will make them sing!

Bottom line: you've got great drums, as you know, and any good heads will sound great on them.

Enjoy!
