Now there's something I haven't seen before: Useful spam. Nice to know that there are some drug dealers and smugglers who have great taste. This reminds us of where the term "collecting dust" got its origins.

MIKEY777 isn't this in your neck of the woods? Can you give us the lowdown? (bring a face mask to keep your allergies down from the dust.)

Lovely kit, Prog Jazz? I'm in--please don't tell them this isn't a 70s kit and please don't bid against me :)

Hi Knavel. Sorry to disappoint you, but this particular drum kit was not confiscated from drug dealers. It's from the estate of late jazz drummer Dave Ameele. Please feel free to call me at 800.613.0156 ext 475 if you have any questions.

Touché GDG, I should have known by the fact that:

1) You are actually working to maximize return on something (which no goverment has ever done); and

2) .com top level domain (as opposed to, e.g., .gov); that,

really this is just a commercial auction service.

You do a good job at making yourselves look official (even took me when my guard was down - but hey I live in Italy and it's 10:30 pm--meaning the chianti has been open for awhile).

But...blowing a level of dust off of my California State Bar membership certificate similar to the level on that drum set, the 60 seconds I dedicated to perusing your website didn't yield clearly how you got the charge to sell this set. It looks like a probate sale because of the County of Orange reference, but I can't be sure. That and the public notice style presentation. I'll keep you in my bookmarks, could come in handy sometime.

Anyhow, good luck with the sale and I must admit not so secretly that I am a little disappointed this didn't come from the source I posited above.

Heck, who knew Gretsch made drums in 970. Those look awesome for 1,000 year old drums. Can't believe there aren't any cracks in the wrap!
