1969 Rogers Black Oyster Pearl Londoner Kit

Loading...

Greetings,

I bought this kit a few years ago from the original owner who said he bought in 19699. It was obviously pretty well used including some wrap issues when I got it but has been professionally restored to wonderful condition for its age. Original wrap on all drums. Very little if any rust/pitting on lugs/hardware.... polished up very nicely. Believe kit was made in transition from Ohio to California (some labels say Fullerton).

Shells are 13, 13, 16, 22 with 14" chrome snare. Hardware is all Swivomatic. Includes one swan-leg cymbal stand, a swan-leg hi-hat, an a Swivomatic kick pedal. Only non-original parts are snare stand (Rogers but not Swan leg), bottom floor tom hoop, and kick-drum spurs (replicas). New heads all around but some of the originals are still with us. Shells and bearing edges are all in great shape.

I've been told the kit is pretty rare and collectible. All of the photos I have are hi-res so I have to dumb them down before I can post them which I will do soon. I continue to research this kit and understand the recommendations to read the Rogers book (will probably do that) but in the interim, I continue to research this kit and would appreciate any insights as to value. As I said, photos to follow. Polo sends.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Update with a few corrections:

Greetings,

I bought this kit a few years ago from the original owner who said he bought in Panama City, FL, in 1969. Serial numbers to follow.

I continue to research this kit and understand the recommendations to read the Rogers book (will probably do that) but in the interim, I continue to research this kit and would appreciate any insights as to value. Still working on reducing photo sizes so stay tuned!
