Hello, I recently decided to try and somewhat restore a set of Ludwig drums I have had for years. Just figured I'd ask a few questions. Are these rare/hard to find? The serial number is 668992...I believe that means they were produced in 1969? Is this correct? Sadly I never had the matching floor tom
1969 Red, White, and Blue Ludwig
The color is rare, That doesn't equate to very valuable all the time though. the shells are some of the best ludwig ever produces, the 3 ply clear interior shells.
thanks for the response. great to know. I am looking forward to getting them back in playing condition.
What Model would these be? ClubDate?
If you send that floor tom in to Precision Drum in New York (I don't know where you're located,) they will match the pattern for you. Shouldn't be too expensive to do.
3-ply clear maple... EXCELLENT drums.

Not Club Dates... maybe be Super Classic. Not to familiar with the sets but I know Club Dates are center lug drums.

Jim's correct these are super classic shells.
Awesome kit. I have only seen 2 others like it.
Some of the best shells Ludwig ever made,is the general consensus.
Look to be in good condition,so when complete will be some value there, the rarity of the wrap is not hurting the value,I think they are somewhere in between the least desired wraps and the most desired price wise.
The nice thing is you can get matching BD hoops pretty easily, you just need a red sparkle hoop for the reso, blue sparkle for the batter.Bass looks like it was drilled for gull wing spurs, again easy to find, and you are in business.
If I was going to keep them I would also get the FT wrapped to match because finding a matching floor could take awhile because of the scarcity of that wrap.
Looks like the bass is a virgin,if so it could have came that way,or could have been a concert or marcher that was drilled for spurs later.
Nice kit kit either way.
:2Cents:Is that a early 18 inch ft wmp? mite be better to sell it abd get a cheaper one to recover
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
