No, that's normal. They had to use two pieces of wrap on the larger shells (18" and up, I think). So two seams on that bass drum is completely normal. I guarantee you it's not a re-wrap. That's original (faded) silver sparkle.

I have to put my faith in your hands on this one cause I am in the apprenticeship stages yet. hope to always be there, I guess you can never stop learning. I appreciate all the advice I've been pretty hot and heavy on this subject lately between gigging fri-sats and family i hope to convince momma to let me keep this one!!!!!!!!!

Could you list the badge numbers? -including the snare? Is the snare also a B/O (blue & olive) badge like the rest?

Could you also post some shots of the interiors of the road cases? and some close-ups of the hardware marks/scratches?

The bass drum hoops look almost immaculate. I'll bet the chrome will clean up to an almost "near mint" condition, too.

You really should reconsider your decision to sell these, in my opinion. This is a very special kit. The completeness is almost unheard of!

Is the fade evenly distributed all around/across the shells or is t(for example) the underside of the bass drum less or un-faded? Actually, I wouldn't even worry about that, but I am curious to see. They probably were set up in a bright room over a long period of time and that's why they faded. But, that aside, can you imagine what they would look like if they had been stored in the cases all this time? They would be almost "time capsule perfect" !!!

If it's at all possible, I think you should contact the person you bought them from and get them to tell you the history of how those drums came into their lives. Provenance can add a lot to the interest in a kit like this. Find out the background if you can and let us know! For example: At which music store were they purchased/ordered? What were the conditions under which they were played?

How many of the original Ludwig "dB" series heads are still with the drums? Don't get rid of any of them! They can be cleaned and used for resonant heads and/or display. I'll tell you how to clean them later! it's easy!

all of the heads are db original ludwig except for the snare it is a remo the entire kit has faded together perfectly the snare badge is 767439,bass 807795,low tom 807656,12" 809813,13" 809806 the stands look immaculate with very few adjustments ever made same with tom post to the bass drum I think I counted 11 marks on the post I finally got brave and took the front rim of the bass drum off I would have to say I was the first. I was very carefull putting it exactly where it was originally. the gentleman who owned these before me also owned star ammunition which he founded in 1945 I believe he actually bought these off a professional drummer in 1972 so I am in the process of getting more info from him. the inside of these drums smell like they have never been off before I will work on getting those pictures up. but here are a few more pic
