1968 Slingerland Blue Agate

Just arrived. Decided to take some shots of it before I lay a hand on it.

It's in WAY better condition than I had anticipated. Very happy about that.

Serial Nrs.

22 - 225152

12 - 225147

13 - 231123

16 - 231877

That's pretty good numbers.

The wrap has no fade that I can see. I'll know more once I start ripping into them.

I looked through the clear heads and can see the insides look very nice upon first glance. I think the inner ply of the bass might have some screw pressure bits where someone overtightened. I'll pull the heads and verify.

But, other than that, they look pretty good. I can't find any bad spots or other goofiness.

This one will be fun.

The other 68 Blue Agate is still for sale. I would lay money on the table that they would do a lay-a-way thing for you. You need that set. You know it and I know it and all the others here know it. Lucky needs the Blues.

Well, I checked them out and they might be on layaway. The only problem with those is they have a 20" bass which I have two of. 20, 12, 13, 16. 22, 13,16 is what I would be after. Thanks for the heads up. And I wasn't kidding about a trade, I know you are not the biggest fan of pink, butttttt!

pink butt??? just what are you proposing? That 20 will definitely speak. You don't find 'em much cleaner than that one. What'shisface has a blue agate for sale. I think he just dropped his price to 600. nice kit.

Ha! I know they speak well, just don't want another 20. The kit whatshisface has, has issues, including a 20" bass. I am going to put those pink Slingies on the bay probably next week. I just need to get rid of things.
