1967 Slingerland Radio King Chrome Shell

Help with value, ebay gone bad. I purchased this snare on ebay for $300. It arrived with damage, not bad, the shell is bent slightly on both sides at the snare gates. The worst packing job I have ever seen. A 14 inch drum in a 14 inch box with popcorn thrown over the top. At this point I can keep it or send it back but I have no idea if it is worth hanging on to. I am not a collector, this would be my second snare. Any help on the value (low to high) would be greatly appreciated. The drum is very nice shape (other than the dents at the snare gates) 6 1/2 by 14, 8 lug, 3 line COB shell with 3 point strainer, COB hoops, brass and black Niles badge with serial number, as pictured in the 1967 Slingerland catalog page. Thanks.

If you had gotten a deal on it, I'd say just keep it and pay for repair. If it was a $500 drum which you pegged for $300, I'd also say keep it and fix.

But, you got sorta market value, I think...meaning for you to add another $50+ to have it repaired would be a negative for you.

It's likely NOT an intricate repair...but what you intended on receiving was not a drum with damage...so, I say...try to return it, first-off.

Perhaps the seller would pay for a reasonably priced repair job?
