Blue Strata is the pinnacle of Rogers wraps, imho. Do not be put off that the wraps are cracked, as long as they are small, with-the-grain of the wrap, and still adhered. I have a 12 16 20 Dayton/Fullerton tag transition BS kit; all three drums have minor cracks in the wraps. It's very common.

With a 7 line included, that is an excellent price, although it does look to need a little clean up. Also note that the snare bridge seems to be missing, from what I see. See if he will throw in his cymbals for an extra $100. Most likely they are still around somewhere, and it sounds like he is retiring from drumming.

Also, a 7-line Dyna should not have a Big-R era snare hoop. Aside from the missing snare frame and wrong hoop, everything looks about right. Fine drums. The seller is incorrect in stating that Blue Strata was only available in 1967; it was available throughout the Dayton era and was still offered in the 1971 Fullerton catalog.

I agree. Great price overall. Cool kit. Where does it say there are cracks in the wrap??

As noted, Dyna is incomplete and not correct. Offer him $1000 and tell him to keep the "$500" Dyna. Then get your own for less if you want one.

This is exactly what I think you should do.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Not to fond of big “R “because of build issues , I prefer older era , they were built with great skill..

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
