Well, I don't want do it but it was the only way I could get my wife to go along with my new purchase. I just picked up an early 60s Gretsch RB Prog kit 20/12/14/14x4 in Burgundy Sparkle. So, I had to consolidate a bit. Thanks for the feedback on the kits - I appreciate it. I know I'm high on the Champagne kit but it's really a beauty and not in any hurry to sell.

Take care man!

I don't think so. The 20/13/16 combo makes it a very versatile kit for me. I'd feel comfortable playing rock, jazz, pretty much anything with that config. However, I'm really fascinated with Gretsch right now and I never play the Ludwig Champagne kit. I need to break down the collection and this kit is one of three that needs to go. I sold the Blue Sparkle kit last week and just sold the Club Date today.

This is the only set that I feel the price is to high. I was positive the other two would sell at those prices. As, your sets were in great condition and they are starting to get semi rare to have a matching snare with a complete set. I'd just like to tell you now that I'd keep that champagne...I can almost guarantee you will have regret about selling the other two sets. Just pleaseeeee keep this one. Trust me.....I've learned from experience!

Now you tell me drumbum. The champagne kit just sold about two hours ago. :-)

I think I'll be okay with it. As I get older, I'm getting a bit more picky about what vintage gear I buy. Granted, these are great sets but I'm ready to move to the next level. Of course, if I was single, I would not have sold these kits. So, if I'm interested in other kits, I need to prioritize. It's the sad reality I live in.

Thanks for the advice and, hopefully, I won't be e-mailing you a few years down the road crying about what I sold.

Take care.
