1966 Slingerland BSF Bop

Loading...

I picked these up at the Chicago Drum Show. 12, 14, 18 BD with matching snare. I just finished up the total rehab of them and they turned out very nice. This is identical to my very first kit in sizes and color, but a year newer as these are 1966's and my original kit was 1965 date stamped.

Very nice.. takes me back.. My first Slingerland was the '67 Jet Kit. Exact same sizes as your kit and same blue satin too..

The differences were that the 12" was snare stand mounted, the BD had the "Beater Saver" hoops with the "Clip On" pedal, was supplied with a chrome Soundking snare.. and had instead the push button leg mounts on the 14"..

Cheers

John

Myron, those are absolutely stunning in every regard!Nice that you`ve got them back once again albeit a one year later model, after who knows how many years, and only you can answer that question.Makes me want to swim in the "big blue sea" just looking at them.Enjoy and treasure those wonderful drums in a most beautiful wrap!

Glad you got those. I saw them in one of the show pictures that were posted. Thought what a great kit.

I purchased a new Slingy kit in 1970 in the exact Blue Satin Flame wrap -- 22/12/13/16 with matching snare. I should have NEVER gotten rid of it. That wrap looks AMAZING under the lights. Beautiful kit! Thanks for sharing the pic. ENJOY!!!!!

Outstanding! Colour and sizes have to make that kit a rare bird.
