1966 Ludwig Hollywood in Black Oyster Pearl

Loading...

For sale is a 1966 Ludwig Hollywood drum set with the original black oyster pearl wrap. All but the bass drum have their original date stamp. I originally purchased the set with the intention to bring them back to completely original condition, but I have neither the time nor the money to do so. These drums are probably the closest you can get to Ringo's Super Classics without actually buying them. Same sizes, same finish. Extra tom, different mounting system, right drum experts?

Drum Sizes:

Bass - 14x22 - Serial# 377079

Floor- 16x16 - Serial # 374116

Tom - 8x12 - Serial # 375292

Tom - 9x13 - Serial 403572

What's missing:

Both 12" hoops, one 16" hoop, tom mounting system, spurs, 2 dampening pads, 24 tension rods (for the toms)

The overall condition of the kit is very good. There are no extra holes, very minor pitting on the hardware, and virtually no rust. The small amount that does exist could easily be cleaned. There are some minor scuffs and scratches, but nothing that is noticeable, and the wrap has almost no fading. There is one small cut in the wrap of the bass drum, a small spot of missing wrap on the 12" tom, and a small surface crack on the bass drum - all of which are documented below. I'm not really sure of their value, but a complete set is selling on Ebay right now for 2600, so 900 seems like more than a fair drop in price. Of course, you're free to offer what you'd be willing to spend. And don't worry, I won't be offended.

I'd think about twice about selling man. If I had those in my hands I would never let them go! Good luck with the sale. It is a good solid price at $750.

Did you sell this set?

I can see them fine on explorer and firefox on two separate computers. I don't know what to tell you, they're definitely there. If you want to PM your email, I can send the pics to you later this afternoon.
