I've had both the Ludalloy and the COB Supras and can assure you that the weight difference is SIGNIFICANTLY noticeable.
My COB weighs over 9 lbs, while the Ludalloy I had weighed in the 6 pound range.
Just thought I'd throw that in. Hope it helps.
Yikes.....I just looked and realized that I typed in the wrong date....(!!!!!??) It's a 1965! Also, a magnet does NOT stick to it...maybe I'm dumb, but I don't know if aluminum actually attracts them...(Duh)
From what I've read, they stopped the brass around 1961, and there's a Supra on eBay that's billed as a COB...but it's a 1962.
So, if you guys don't mind..one more time please
Thanks, and

Magnets do NOT stick to aluminum or brass.
Can't help you with the other questions - Sorry :)
Wow! This is getting strange...
OK, a magnet doesn't stick to this drum. The bearing edges do NOT curl under as a brass drum should...(at least by the Ludwig Book) and there is no, "Ludalloy" sticker inside. (This drum is in mint, original condition but for the heads....)
What do I have?????
All the help I'm getting is deeply appriciated!!!
Happy Memorial Day!

I can almost guarantee that your drum is aluminum alloy, not brass. The Ludalloy stickers didn't start showing up until the 70's, I believe.
Thanks for the info!!!
