1965 Ludwig Downbeat matched kit in Sky Blue Pearl

Loading...

More treasure from the hills of SoCal:

1965 Ludwig Downbeat kit in Sky Blue Pearl.

20/12/14 with matching Super Classic 8 lug snare.

This is a matched kit dated June 14 1965. Snare dated Nov 5 1965. An 8.5 out of 10. Not as nice as the Oyster Blue I just got but close.

Some pedal rash on batter side hoop & the typical fade on the wrap for a 50 year old kit.

The fade is not bad but even & certainly gives the kit it's own color.

No rust, pitting or any issues what so ever. Chrome is pretty immaculate. All original hardware on drums. I'm once again, the 3rd owner.

Another great little jazz/rock/country kit to use. YES!

Dan, you are not kidding. I really did find a gold mine. I'll be getting several kits over the next year. More beauties to come!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Oh I love my Downbeats! And yours are super cool. They tune up so lovely for Jazz, but I've found they sound flipping amazing tuned low in studio context. Nice.
