Sweet set! If I was a Ludwig guy, I'd be taking four for sure.

Thanks Dan,

I hope someone on here ends up with them. I'd rather not have to go to Ebay.

These are beauts!

Just for yucks, is there a date stamp in any of these shells? There's a 1 in 365 chance of a Birthday Drum for me.

Dan,

No, there are no dates inside of shells, just a few factory (I think) pencil marks. Green pencil if I remember correctly. I dated these off the serials. The serials are fairly close on the 3pc.

104590, 104600 and107654

The snare is 69760.

I believe I'm correct in stating 1964, but if anyone knows otherwise, please chime in!

Thanks for your interest and please let me know if you have any other questions or would like additional photos.

randy

those 3 serial numbers on the drums are usually early 65,probably march 65. the snare serial number would indeed usually be a 64 serial number. beautiful drums.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

Mike,

Thanks for the help on the dates. My ludwig book (Rob Cook) is pretty vague between 64-65 so I made my best assumption. I do appreciate the help!

Jaghog,

These have always been in the St.louis area as far as I know.

Thanks for looking!
