I don't mean to spoil surprises, but, it does...! I'm still uncovering the sonic strengths of mine.

Enjoy.

This is a great drum. Do you have a set to go with it? And was this the one on ebay just after Christmas?

Yes it is. It REALLY is! Has already excelled in recording and performance.

No I dont. I am checking the market for a Downbeat in Champ Sprkl. But I also have matching shells in new Ludwig Maple Classic.

Yes. I've been seriously looking for a year. Grabbed it quickly because it was so well presented in the listing. The seller is a great guy.

Good for you.

I only asked because I was looking for a 64 (red muffler) Jazzfest to go-- interestingly per your response--with my 64 Downbeat kit in CS I bought in October that came with a supra (I put some pics up here on VDF of this set at some point).

I ended up getting a 65 CS Jazzfest in perfect condition but I won't be picking it up until the end of this month so I can't talk about its sonic properties. I hope it is 1/4 of what yours has turned out to be per your description.

If you happen to find a 65 Downbeat set and would swap to get the perfect period correct one, let me know! ;)
