1962 Ludwig WMP Questions

Loading...

I just acquired the above mentioned drum kit. Pre-serial 22", 16", 13" drum sizes. Also an 18" matching tom added in 1965. I purchased this all from the original owner. Included was all original pedals and hardware. Also included were 2 snares. The Ludwig snare is earlier than the rest of the kit, the badge dates '55-'59. It is a 5.5x14 3 ply snare with maple re-enforced rings. It is called the Ludwig Super-Classic snare.

MY QUESTION IS: during the years that they were making this particular model snare, I have read numerously that it was called the 'Buddy Rich Super Classic' snare. In 1960 it was re-titled to just a Super Classic snare. Is this accurate? Can anyone confirm or deny my find?

Also, I am not selling this kit, but I would like to know if anyone has an estimated value, if anyone knows.

Thanks,

Kevin

You can search this forum for that answer. It has been discussed on a few posts in detail.

It might take a little bit to find it since the search feature on these types of forums is not the best.
