Just finished this one up.

Beautiful!

I am working on a Pioneer myself and getting caught on the fact that the snare side bearing edges have slight indentations in the line of the snares, which makes tuning the drum kind of difficult, especially since the drum only has six lugs!

That is called a snare bed, if I understand what you are saying.
