1961 ludwig club date ducos

Loading...

Ok, I'm going to start by saying this: I don't don't have a lot of drums come through my hands, and I don't know much about them. I play guitar for a living and only play drums when it's necessary. I own two kits right now---a '63 slingerland and these ludwigs. A friend of mine is WAY into vintage drums (he's been such a HUGE help to me!!), and his words were "Johnny, you've really got something w/ these ludwigs..." He called them "transitional". FWIW, he bought an oyster pearl '60's kit off of me a few years ago, too. Anyway, they are silver/blue ducos. The floor tom's hardware is chrome, but the kick, snare, and mounted tom have nickel hardware. The tom-mount is nickel, as well. He told me that this kit is made up of parts that range from '59 to '61, it would have been assembled by the dealer and originally sold in early '61---there was "no doubt" in his mind that it was a matched set (which eased my mind, b/c I saw mismatched badges and hardware and thought it was a parts kit). They sound thunderous! I would keep these, but I need the money right now (and they're more valuable than my slingerlands).

Your best bet for specific info is to call me, so message me and I'll give my number---I need to sell as soon as possible. Sorry for the for sale ad w/o much specific info...I'm way out of my depth w/ these, I think!

Thanks for the sizes, drumbum. As far as price goes, I'm going to take the best offer (within reason). If I need to state a price, I understand---I'll give my friend a call and see what he suggests. I hope that someone really enjoys these!

That is a tad high...your looking at an $800-$1000 set. Just trying to help...it's a really nice set...but it is a clubdate.

The snare is worth around $125-$180

and the set is worth $600-800

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
