Sorry, but no, I don't think that this one has the same KingBeat-shell. All KingBeats I've ever had, have- only two groovings in the middle of the shell (not three, like this one) and- a very heavy shell (approx. 4.5 kgs). fishwaltz: is yours that heavy? Ralf

I think I made my statement a bit ambiguous. I was not referring the Royal Star shell to the KBs. The early TAMA and the old Star KB shells and hardware are identical. I know the 8356 and related snares are a different one altogether. I have one and would love to have a KB. Sorry for the confusion.
