No it is not. It's a Student Model snare as Mark stated previously.

Ok, thanks. I looked in a 1960 catalog and there is a "Student Model Radio King" that matches my Chicago badged snare. Looking at the 1963 catalog they call what looks like the snare in question a "Student Model".

8 lugs and a deep shell...?? Sounds good to me...

This is assuming no major interior or bearing edge problems

In another current thread a six-lugger shallow shell Slingerland snare is valued at $179, and it's agreed it's a good deal at that.

Most of the 10 or 12 or so Slingerland Student 8-lug shallow shell snares I have owned I have paid around $200
