1960s Ludwig Symphonic Snare

Loading...

Hi,

I'm a guitar player so have no knowledge of these things and am hoping someone can help.

We recently acquired a 1960s (61-63) Ludwig Symphonic Snare, 14 x 6.5, in White Marine Pearl finished with Ludwig Resacote with a stand and case of the same age. Apart from needing a new top skin, this drum is immaculate. There are no knocks, blemishes or fading and it is in practically new condition. You can find an example here:

This will be up for sale. Does anyone know what sort of price we should be asking?

Thanks in advance.

The catalog cuts are OK...but it would be more helpful if you could post a picture of the actual drum...inside and out, maybe a few closeups, too.

This drum should do well in the current economy. I would say in the $300 - $450 range if it is in the condition you state and we are talking about the same drum.

A photo as stated is the best way for us to determine it is exactly that.

Thanks

David

Thanks very much. I don't have the drum in my house but I'll get some pictures and post them up asap.

Thanks again.

Holy crapMind Blowi.....what a drum !

Looks like original wires, muffler, throwoff, etc...cannot tell if hoops are original....

At very least $300...actually, if the stand and case would be included, likely $400 + . On eFlay it might fetch over $400 if it gets into a bid war. A vintage shop would price it at around $500, probably.

...man, the condition looks CHERRY !!!!!

I'd be interested to hear any more thoughts on how much this might be worth?

Thanks..

I would guess 400-600. It's really clean!
