1950 Leedy&Ludwig 5.5x14 "Broadway"

This wonderful snare has a date stamp indicating that it was made in September 1950.

Someone had very poorly re-glued the reinforcement rings... I had to heat up a razor blade over and over and wedge it in between the shell and the re-rings in order to take them out for regluing... That was fun. Not! (I probably could have bought some sort of tool that would have made this a lot easier, heh, oh well).

Green sparkle is probably my favorite finish. This one has some cool fading and age spots - it looks kind of like a frog!

I'm in agreement that it is a really nice snare drum, but I'm casting my vote for this being a very competent and artistic bit of photography too!
