These drums are in good condition and are rich with vintage vibe and history. During WWII, metal restrictions were put in place - only 10% of any instrument's weight could be made of metal! Leedy's answer to this predicament was the "Dreadnought" series, which features wooden lugs, and uniquely designed wood hoops.
The bass drum is 26x14" and the tom is 11x7". Both still have their original calf heads which are in good condition! The thick 3-ply shells are both perfectly in round, and the edges are good. I have not cleaned them at all, because I think they have the perfect amount of "mojo." The bass drum has 2 interior date stamps - September 1943 and December 1943. The tom has a December 1940 date stamp. Leedy often used shells that had been sitting around in the factory for a few years - this is a perfect example!
There is just one issue that isn't cosmetic - the bottom tacked pigskin head on the 11" is torn, and needs to be replaced. I know of a few people who redo these sort of heads, if you'd like a recommendation. Every other issue with these drums is minor and cosmetic - paint chipping and scratches, which is typical with drums these age.
Please PM me if you have any questions! I'd like to sell these drums locally (Ohio), in order to avoid shipping - but I'm willing to work something out.
