Now the question is should i remove the heads and add lug's to the drum or leave the drum as-is and make a small set around it?....Mikey

I have never seen one like your tack drum Mikey.

If all the white paint was removed from calf and tacks, it just might look spectacular.

Does it play now with the calf heads?

You might just want to leave as is for historic purposes.

Cool old drum.

Lets see a pic of that tom mount please.

I am looking for banjo specialty stores in LA now.

Westwood Music was suggested.

We will see.

SA, I have been thinking about the drum iam going to loeave it alone and make a set around it.But on the other hand iam thinking about removing one head and see what the shell is inside..The set iam thinking of is the 10" as a mounted tom using a 15x17 snare drum with wood hoops and make that into a bass drum. Then i have 30's S/L shell that is 12" head by 14" deep no wrap had 6 lugs top and bottom and no other hole's. I have had this shell for years and still don't know what to call it.So iam going to make it the floor tom...If you are in LA,ca call remo they will have the head for you....I will post some photos of the mount and the 12" shell later today....Mikey

Drumfactory carries Remo 11" drum heads.

I ordered 3 white, coated ambassadors.

Not expensive like Remo custom orders.

Scott in LA,CA

I am now always looking out for the elusive 11" single flange rim.
