Hi all,
New to this forum, but thought it would be a good place to ask.
I've recently come into possession of an old bass drum from a school wanted to clear some space. I've attached a picture here, and there are move that I've posted on my Facebook page.
I've tried a bit of research on its age and identity, and have so far deduced that it comes from around 1930-35. I measure it as 27.5" diameter, and 12" depth with a Glitter Gold finish, calf-skin heads and timpani style tension handles.
The hardware appears to be (very tarnished) copper/brass, and there is a pair of castor wheels on the rim, and a small door near to the badge (apparently for lighting effects!).
I'm looking to spend some time doing it up and making it shiny and new again to keep for myself, but if it's worth anything, I'd consider selling it. Does anyone here know any more information about these type of drums. Any help would be much appreciated :-)
Many thanks
